Many parents will agree a child's first birthday is a significant milestone that's typically celebrated with a party. Some parents opt for an intimate gathering at home while others plan a lavish bash.

Recently though, Beyoncé and Jay-Z threw a princess-themed birthday extravaganza in New York for their daughter, Blue Ivy, that brought first birthday parties to a whole new level.

According to The Sun, the mega-rich entertainers spent $95,000 on pink and white roses, $30,000 on princess costumes, jewelry sets, playhouses and toys for Blue Ivy's friends and their parents, and $2,400 on the cake. What's more, baby Blue received a custom-made $80,000 diamond-encrusted Barbie doll.

The goody bags weren't just for the kids: The Sun also reported adults were given concert tickets and gold pens engraved with their names. The soiree cost the couple roughly $200,000.

A source told The Sun: "Nothing's been too big or expensive for their little princess. They wanted her first birthday to set the tone for the rest of her life. They work hard for their money and the first thing they want to spend it on is their baby girl."

Let's not forget, Beyoncé and Jay-Z spent $1 million on Blue Ivy's nursery. It make you wonder what else is in store for this tiny tot.
