Long Island will see a sunny, seasonable end to August, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 70s, said Joe Pollina, meteorologist with the service's Upton bureau. Lows on Sunday will be in the low 60s, with clear skies.

Monday will again be sunny, with slightly higher temperatures -- highs will be in the low to mid-80s, Pollina said. Lows on Monday will be in the low to mid-60s.

Sunny skies dominate on Tuesday, with highs in the mid-80s. It will be mostly clear Tuesday night, with lows in the mid-60s.

The spate of sun continues on Wednesday, with highs in the low to mid-80s, but clouds come in on Wednesday night, bringing the lows down to the mid-60s.

Thursday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the low to mid-80s. The clouds return Thursday night, with lows in the low to mid-60s.

Friday will be cooler, with mostly sunny skies and highs reaching only into the upper 70s. The normal high at Islip this time of year is 80, Pollina said.

Lows on Friday will be in the low to mid-60s.
