Following a rainy night and morning showers, Thursday turned out to be unseasonably warm.

Long Island MacArthur Airport hit 73 degrees as of around 1:20 p.m., tying the record for the day which was set in 2014, said Jay Engle, National Weather Service meteorologist based in Upton.

News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said conditions will be "dry and comfortable" through the weekend, which includes Halloween, the New York City Marathon and World Series games at Citi Field.

Lows Thursday night are in the mid-40s as cooler temperatures move in, Hoffman said.

Friday is sunny, with daily highs in the upper 50s and a west wind from 9 to 14 mph.

Temperatures will drop Friday night, with conditions clear and cool for Game 3 of the World Series at Citi Field. Nighttime lows in the low to mid-40s are likely.

Nighttime conditions are dry and clear with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s, Hoffman said.
