On Sunday, temperatures will top out at around 40, with clouds remaining in the skies throughout the day, said Dan Hofmann, meteorologist with the service's Upton bureau. Breezes of up to 25 mph could occur Sunday afternoon, with scattered flurries possible into the evening, although Hofmann said nothing is expected to accumulate. Lows on Sunday will be in the upper 20s.
Monday's highs will be around 40, with lows in the upper 20s to around 30, he said.
Temperatures for the rest of the week will stay steady, with highs in the low to mid-40s, and lows in the low 30s, Hofmann said.
A storm system to the south is forecast to bring rain or snow to the area Wednesday night into Thursday, but Hofmann said the system did not look significant.
"The precipitation looks to be relatively light," Hofmann said, adding that even if it were to snow, the late winter sun will cause it to melt quickly.
The rest of the week is expected to remain dry, he said.
