The weekend’s drenching rains will give way to seasonable and pleasant temperatures on Long Island this week, when highs will be near 75 each day, but brace for lots of wind on both Sunday and Monday.

“It looks like a wonderful week,” News 12 Long Island meteorologist Bill Korbel said. “There’s virtually no chance of rain coming up. There’s some great spring-like weather ahead.”

Any rain will be a thing of the past Sunday, when northwest winds of 15-30 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph, are predicted and there will be a mix of sun and clouds. The high will be 78 degrees and at night it will continue to be windy with a low of 55.

Temperatures of 70, 74 and 75 degrees are expected on Sunday in Babylon, Bridgehampton and Manorville, respectively, with southwestern Nassau County expected to reach 80.

When heading back to work Monday look for the same windy conditions to stick around; there will be another mix of sun and clouds with highs dropping a bit to near 78. Lows near 58 are forecast.
