A woman was killed Tuesday by a subway train in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.
Kevin Ortiz, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, said the woman may have become ill before falling onto the tracks and being hit by a Manhattan-bound train.
Ortiz said the case is under investigation by New York City police.
The woman fell and was hit by a southbound No. 3 train at Eastern Parkway and Utica Avenue at about 10:20 a.m., according to a news release by police.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, and police are withholding identification pending notification of family.
