This March 2007 photo released by the McCann family Friday May 4, 2007 shows three-year-old British girl Madeleine McCann who is reported missing during a family holiday in the Algarve region of Portugal. Kate McCann the mother of the British girl who disappeared four months ago in southern Portugal is to be named a formal suspect in the case Friday Sept. 7, 2007, a family spokesman said, a shocking twist to a case that has gripped much of Europe.

Public Defender Barry Collins told jurors Wednesday, April 17, 1996, that there was overwhelming evidence to show that Davis kidnapped and killed 12-year-old Polly, but that there is no evidence that Davis sexually molested the girl. The admission appeared to be an attempt to keep Davis off death row. The girl was missing for two months before Davis led authorities to her body near Cloverdale.

Authorities in South Florida say they've finally solved the 1981 killing of the boy whose father, John Walsh, later gained fame as the host of television's "America's Most Wanted." Hollywood police said Tuesday Dec. 16, 2008 that a man long considered the lead suspect in Adam's murder has finally been conclusively linked to the crime. The accused, a serial killer named Ottis Toole, died in prison more than a decade ago.
