The adorable youngster, named Khumba, was born at the Reynosa zoo in northern Mexico earlier this week. He is the first zonkey, or “cebrasno,” in Mexico, the zoo proclaimed on its Facebook page – calling him “a real miracle of life.”

The baby zonkey has a brown head and torso, with black and white zebra stripes on his legs. He can be seen frolicking in his video debut.

His mother, a zebra named Rayas, was visited every afternoon by a dwarf albino donkey, Ignacio, who hails from a nearby farm, The Telegraph reported.

What they produced is rare – but not unheard of. Zonkeys can be found in various countries around the world, including the U.S., according to the Miami Herald.
