The Giants don’t want David Wilson to backflip his way on to the list of football players who injured themselves during celebrations. Some of the unfortunate victims:

Bill Gramatica
Cardinals kicker tore his right ACL and missed the rest of the 2001 season when he jumped up and landed awkwardly after a 42-yard field goal early in the game that gave Arizona a 3-0 lead over the Giants. Gramatica was never the same after the injury, going from making 16 of 20 field goals his rookie year to being out of the NFL three years later.

Ted Ginn Jr.
The Ohio State kick returner got the Buckeyes off to a great start in the 2007 BCS national championship game against Florida when he carried the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown. The only problem was that teammate Ray Hall slid into his left foot during the end-zone celebration and took Ginn out of the game. Ginn watched the rest of Florida’s 41-14 rout from the sideline.

Gus Frerotte
The Redskins QB was so thrilled after scoring a TD on a 1-yard run late in the first half against the Giants in a November 1997 game that he spiked the ball and head-butted a padded cement wall beyond the end zone. Frerotte missed the rest of the 7-7 tie with a sprained neck.
