Bay Shore car hits gas main with fire

Firefighters had to lay hose over a car that was parked to close to a fire hydrant. after a North Shore Paramedic vehicle struck the gas service at 19 N. Clinton Ave. in Bay Shore causing a fire. The building was evacuated and the fire was quickly controlled by the Bay Shore Fire Dept. About twenty people were displaced due to the fire, there were no reported injuries.
