June 2008 cops of the month

The 2nd Precinct has selected Police Officer Mark Collins and Police Officer Kevin Quinn as their "Cops of the Month." Officer Collins has been with the department since October 2003 and has received one Department Recognition, three Command Recognitions and three Letters of Appreciation. Officer Quinn has been with the department since October 2003 and has received two Department Recognitions, three Command Recognitions, two Cop of the Month Awards and four Letters of Appreciation.

May 2008 cops of the month

The 2nd Precinct has selected Police Officer Jason Paglino and Police Officer Timothy Zorn as their "Cops of the Month." Officer Paglino has been with the department since December 1993 and has received 10 Department Recognitions, seven Command Recognitions, one Exceptional Meritorious Award, one Cop of the Year Award, two Cop of the Month Awards and four Letters of Appreciation. Officer Zorn has been with the Department since May 1995 and has received seven Department Recognitions, nine Command Recognitions, one Bravery Silver Medal, one Cop of the Month Award and one Letter of Appreciation.

SEPTEMBER 2007 The Second Precinct has selected Police Officers Kevin Quinn and Markus Rivera its "Cops of the Month" for their diligent work, which led to the detection and apprehension of two suspects and the return of stolen property.

Suffolk Officer Peter Colombini

AUGUST 2007 The Second Precinct has selected Police Officer Peter Colombini its "Cop of the Month" for his prompt and life-saving actions. Officer Colombini was on patrol May 31, 2007, in the Huntington Station area when he got a call at 3:12 p.m. of a report of a woman who had fallen and injured herself at a bank on Old Country Road in Dix Hills. When he arrived, he found a 96-year-old female who had no pulse and was not breathing. Officer Colombini applied an automated external defibrillator and began CPR. After approximately two minutes, the victim's pulse and breathing returned. She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
