Suffolk Officer Peter Colombini
AUGUST 2007
The Second Precinct has selected Police Officer Peter Colombini its "Cop of the Month" for his prompt and life-saving actions. Officer Colombini was on patrol May 31, 2007, in the Huntington Station area when he got a call at 3:12 p.m. of a report of a woman who had fallen and injured herself at a bank on Old Country Road in Dix Hills. When he arrived, he found a 96-year-old female who had no pulse and was not breathing. Officer Colombini applied an automated external defibrillator and began CPR. After approximately two minutes, the victim's pulse and breathing returned. She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Officer Colombini has been with the department since July 1978 and has received six Department Recognitions, three Command Recognitions, an Exceptional Meritorious Award, a Cop of the Month Award and a Letter of Appreciation.
