Acrobat to version 6 (PDF - Newsday's preferred File Format) PC & Mac
Newsday’s preferred file format for digitally delivered ads is PDF (portable document format). If you submit an ad in PDF format please use Newsday's job options settings listed here for Acrobat Distiller 4, 5 and 6.

QuarkXpress to version 6, PC & Mac
If you intend to submit your ad in the native Quark format, be sure to include all of the art and fonts (printer and screen fonts). You may also submit your ad as an EPS (Encapsulated Postscript) file. In this instance all font information must be embedded in the EPS file or fonts must be supplied with the file. This includes any embedded or nested art in the EPS file.

InDesign to version 3 CS, PC & Mac
The same rules apply here. Be sure to send all art and font information. You also can export your ad as an EPS (with fonts embedded) file or as a PDF directly out of InDesign. InDesign also allows you to preflight your ad before submitting to Newsday.
Be sure to have all preferences and profiles set correctly.

CorelDraw to version 11, PC & Mac
You may submit your ad in native CorelDraw format (include all art and fonts). CorelDraw will gather all the necessary files by using the Prepare for Service Bureau function. CorelDraw also allows you to export an EPS file while converting font information to outlines. This is similar to embedding all font information. CorelDraw also allows you to Publish to PDF file without leaving the application
(the settings are similar for versions 9, 10, and 11). See those settings.

Newsday also supports the following applications and their many file formats.

Pagemaker to v7, Photoshop to v8 CS, Illustrator to v 11 CS, Freehand 10
