Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera closes in on Triple Crown
Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera isn't quitting.
The slugger went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in a 4-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. Despite the loss, Cabrera has put himself in good position to take home the Triple Crown. He currently leads in each Triple Crown category with a .331 AVG, 44 home runs and 139 RBIs.
Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton is right on his heels with 43 home runs, but he has a comfortable lead otherwise.
According to ESPN, Cabrera has a 94.2 percent chance of winning the race. He would be the first Triple Crown winner since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 and the 18th ever in MLB history.
