Editorial: Congress an object of wrath

62 -- That's the percentage of middle class people surveyed recently who blamed Congress "a lot" for the lost decade since 2000 that saw their ranks, income and wealth all dwindle. It's been a rough ride, and Congress is generally held in disrepute, but the global economy is beyond Washington's control. When the economy is strong, Congress, and by extension, the government, obviously doesn't deserve the lion's share of the credit. And when it's hobbled, Congress doesn't deserve the lion's share of the blame, either.
