Editorial: Our endorsement for Smithtown Town supervisor

Patrick Vecchio, 79, of Fort Salonga, claims the distinction of being the longest-serving town supervisor in Long Island history. He's held the job since 1978, through 11 elections - early on as a Democrat, the most recent five as the Republican he is today. It's an imposing record of electoral success.
