I found the “How much can you eat?” feature story offensive [Explore LI, Nov. 27].

Restaurants that promote eating as a contest or sport are helping to promote obesity. With two out of three Americans overweight, do we need more of them? These events are even more obscene when one considers the millions of Americans who don’t have enough to eat.
