Please tell me how Albany power broker and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and his chief of staff, Judith Rapfogel, can say they knew and know nothing about this colossal theft of millions of dollars ["Guilty pleas in kickback scheme," News, April 24].

Rapfogel's husband, William, had $400,000 in cash stashed in their homes and used $100,000 of the cash to help purchase a home for their son. It boggles the mind that any of this passes as believable.

This is Albany at its worst. Where is Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo? Where is the now-disbanded Moreland Commission? Standing by and doing nothing is not an option.
