I’m laughing at the suggestion by a letter writer who said we need campaign finance reform because money has too much influence in politics [“Americans see role of money in politics,” March 18].
The writer then expressed support for multibillionaire Donald Trump, who is trying to buy his way into office and admitted in the first Republican debate that he bought favors from politicians.
A true “outsider to the system” would not try to buy influence or use the bankruptcy laws to escape his debts. That is someone deeply entrenched in the system.
