From the Supreme Court's decisions on same-sex marriage and on the Voting Rights Act ["Fair voting now up to Congress," Editorial, June 26], we now see that it's the judicial branch of government that makes the laws. So why does America need Congress anymore?

Look at all the money America could save by not having to give all those dollars and perks to congressional representatives. In 2012, they spent just a little over 150 days in session. They do nothing and give themselves everything. The only work the majority of them do is on trying to get themselves re-elected.
