"Mom on watch list" [News, April 27] related that investigators are looking for emptied pyrotechnic shells that are used to make bombs.

All fireworks stores should be closed for this very reason. We have dead and maimed Bostonians because of government cluelessness. Fireworks can still be legally purchased in some states. This shows that the federal government cannot connect the dots.
