Congratulations to L'Oreal for thinking outside the box when it comes to new hires ["How L'Oreal finds out who's worth it," Opinion, March 12].

The students at the top might not necessarily have the soft skills desired by a company, and this story is encouraging for those not at the top of the heap. The student who is not academically at the top but has the heart of gold, is an enthusiastic worker and overall good soul might be recognized in the algorithms and become the loyal, productive, creative employee of a company that recognizes him.
