Letter: Insurance brokers are here to help

This letter is in response to comments made in "Insurance and repairs" [News, Nov. 9]. The story says, "Don't assume your broker knows your policy" and quotes a lawyer saying, "You can be given misinformation by the broker."
As a licensed independent insurance agent, I am offended, and I'm sure my fellow professionals are too.
A local independent agent absolutely knows the customer's policy.
