I found the recent apology of South Korean entertainer and Internet sensation PSY quite interesting ["A 'Gangnam Style' show for Obamas," News, Dec. 10]. Apparently, a few short years ago, PSY included lyrics in his shows calling for the death of Americans troops in Iraq.

I wondered if his apology was sincere and heartfelt, in that he had a change of heart and position on America's foreign policy. Or, perhaps the apology was driven more by his concern that his newfound wealth and accolades made possible by Americans would be negatively affected and jeopardize his future earnings.

As disappointed as I am that he would get a free pass on this, I am more disappointed that our commander-in-chief would invite him to the White House as a guest of American citizens for a holiday celebration.
