The editorial "An unwelcome wait greets travelers at JFK" [July 11] must have been written with tongue in cheek. Considering a 36-minute wait to go through customs intolerable seems overblown. Watching an episode of a sitcom on TV takes a little less than 36 minutes. That to me is not "standing in an interminable line."
Did Newsday consider that lines at customs are due to the popularity of the United States, and that people want to come here from all over the world?
Newsday should visit the modern Jet Blue terminal at JFK. My family went through there last week, and we had a very satisfactory experience.
