I beg to differ with the letter writer regarding President Barack Obama's supposed accomplishments ["Obama's success in Iran laudable," Dec. 3]. The fact is that he has achieved none of the things the writer listed.

We are still fighting in Afghanistan. The president also got the United States involved in Libya and was intent on getting us involved in the Syrian civil war, but we can be thankful he could not muster national or international support.

The deal with our Iranian enemies is basically telling Israel, our only ally in the Middle East, that it is on its own. With the memories of the Holocaust in the not-so-distant past combined with the incendiary vitriol of the Iranian mullahs, the Israelis have reasons to be concerned about a nuclear Iran.
