For weeks, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and the rest of the local political establishment have hammered away at the Long Island Power Authority management for its many failures. Now, Newsday exposes the political and family connections of that same management ["LIPA's power connections," News, Nov. 21].

I'm sure that our political leaders are -- to paraphrase police inspector Louis Renault in "Casablanca" -- simply "shocked, shocked!" to learn that well-connected political appointees with little or no utility experience have been running the show.
