The article "Summit speakers link LI's future to immigrant success" [News, Feb. 27] describes an "immigration summit" at Hofstra University where it appears only one side of the debate was presented.
At the summit, moderator Lucinda Hurley, director for strategic initiatives at Nassau BOCES, stated, "Free public education is an important mandate."
Really? Free? More than $16,000 of my tax bill went to the Half Hollow Hills school district.
Why should we taxpayers be held responsible for people who break the law and take jobs away from American citizens? Let's have an honest debate.
