Letter: Retired cops shouldn't have guns
Regarding "Cop-on-cop faceoffs occur, but fatalities rare" [News, Jan. 9], I am a retired New York City police officer and have never understood the need for law enforcement retirees to carry a gun.
The unfortunate shooting death in Seaford by a retired member proves this. Retirees should let the past be the past and let real cops do what they have to do.
