The dress code, which consists of primarily a combination of Khaki shorts, pants, or skirts, along with royal blue or white shirts, is in its first year. Congratulations to the Roosevelt school district for implementing a dress code ["Roosevelt's uniform approach," Editorial, Sept. 9].

I was a member of the graduating class of 1956 of what was then called Roosevelt Junior High School. When I attended, there was a strict dress code, and I am happy to see that some 50-plus years later there is a dress code again.

I hope all schools follow this lead.
