In reference to your March 27 editorial, “Opt-out movement out of hand,” why would teachers unions continue to back the opt-out movement if a moratorium on using test scores to evaluate teachers is already in place?
It’s because the teachers unions understand the harm that high-stakes testing poses to our students, schools and public education in general.
Until positive change from the state Education Department happens, this parent, teacher and union member will continue to back the parents at the front of the opt-out movement. Your editorial, by trying to expose a biased agenda by teachers unions, exposes your own biased agenda.
