How in good conscience could Smithtown Supervisor Patrick Vecchio compare the health impact of solar panels at a single-family home with 18,000 panels at a solar farm [“Solar farm approved at former landfill site,” News, March 25]?
My organization is in favor of green energy. However, we are against constructing a solar farm next to a residential community and proposed ball fields for children.
Does someone have to get sick before officials pay attention to the uncertain health effect of solar farms? Smithtown should look for an alternative site before proceeding.
