I did not get through this article on veterans’ health care before becoming sick to my stomach [“Plan for VA reform,” News, July 12].

Donald Trump wants to be president, but he doesn’t seem to have a clue when it comes to dealing with veterans’ issues. Apparently, he is content with regurgitating simple sound bites he picks up from the media.

To fix the Department of Veterans Affairs, you must first change its antiquated structure. If you change the structure, you change the culture. A new, improved culture could result in happy employees, which in turn results in excellent health care.

It’s complex, perhaps, but not complicated.
