Senior Tiquan Garner ran for 245 yards and a career-high five touchdowns on 13 carries to lead Long Island Lutheran as it defeated Great Neck North, 42-14, in Nassau V Saturday. Garner scored on runs of 74, 22, 29, 10 and 46 yards. John Schmitt had 61 yards on 11 carries and Elijah Walters 25 yards on six attempts for Lutheran (4-0). Walters led with eight tackles and a forced fumble. Matt Borer had five tackles and an interception. Devante Moore and Phillip Henderson both had four tackles and an interception. Schmitt had four tackles and a sack. Great Neck North is 2-2.
Jericho 38, Roslyn 14:Josh Harris ran for 152 yards on eight carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Jericho (3-1). Jericho blew the game open with a 68-yard TD pass from Ian Greene to Matthew Nourmand to end the first half. A 65-yard run by Harris on the first play from scrimmage in the second half made it 31-0. Greene finished 2-for-4 with 103 yards and a TD. Roslyn is 2-2.
Friends Academy 57, Great Neck South 22: Tyrone Perkins had three rushing scores and returned an interception and a fumble for a TD to lead Friends Academy (2-2), which totaled 291 yards rushing. Nick Croce had 137 yards and two TDs on 15 carries. Austin Rossi added 12 tackles and an interception and Peter Picoli had eight tackles. South is 1-3.
