Ray Rice bows out of Spectators event; New Rochelle celebration still on
Ray Rice is running a reverse by bowing out of plans to go to a New Rochelle sports bar after tweeting his plans to 435,000 followers, his publicist said.
After his Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Super Bowl XLVII, the elusive running back went on Twitter to say he planned to go to Spectators Sports Club on Friday.
The Spectators event was to be a private party, the sports bar said, but fans no doubt would have found their way there in a bid to ogle the former gridiron star for New Rochelle High School.

Spectators event or no Spectators event, fans will get their chance to celebrate the Super Bowl champ at a rally at 10:30 a.m. Saturday on the front steps of New Rochelle City Hall.
The city is urging Rice partisans to wear purple, the Ravens' main color.
