HARTSDALE - A pedestrian was fatally struck by a train just south of the Hartsdale Metro-North station this morning.

Police say the person was hit by a southbound train at around 8 a.m.

MTA officials are investigating if the man who died was trying to cross the tracks or intentionally jumped in front of the train.

Service was disrupted following the incident, but has since resumed. Commuters stuck on the train for close to two hours after the incident complained of crowded conditions with no power inside the cars.
