Saturday: Peter Rabbit story time and craft in White Plains

Mr. Gregor’s vegetable garden is off limits, but naughty Peter Rabbit can’t resist. Will the disobedient bunny learn his lesson? Children are invited to find out at a reading of the beloved Beatrix Potter classic “The Tale of Peter Rabbit.” Afterward, they can participate in a bunny ears craft. The 30-minute program is appropriate for all ages.

Saturday: Chocolate egg decorating in Haverstraw

Creative kids can make a handmade chocolate Easter egg even sweeter by decorating it with edible, springtime-themed goodies. Each participant can adorn an oversized egg with colorful shapes that are made out of royal icing, such as flowers, birds and bunnies. The chocolates are made fresh daily by Lucas Candies, which has been serving sweet treats in Haverstraw for more than a century. The eggs don’t contain nuts but are made in a room with nuts.

Saturday: Strawberry Shortcake and the Doodlebops live in Tarrytown

Uh-oh, where’s Moe? You’ll find him on stage, rocking and bopping along with Rooney and Deedee Doodle – and that’s just the opening act. For the main event, join the adorable and unstoppable Strawberry Shortcake in Berry Bitty City, along with Orange Blossom, Blueberry Muffin and all their sweetly named gal pals as they prepare for the big talent show in “Strawberry Shortcake: Follow Your Own Beat.” The Koba Entertainment production is appropriate for all ages.

Sunday: Morning Bounce at Mr. Todd's Gymnatics in Poughkeepsie

See a gymnastics school transformed into an inflatable playground with colorful bounce castles, as well as floor beams, a rope swing and other kid-friendly gym equipment to encourage active play. Member and nonmember families are invited for two hours of high-energy fun. A signed waiver is required, and kids must be accompanied by an adult at this all-ages program.
