Police have charged Turpin with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.

JERSEY CITY - Port Authority police say three people were shot at the Pavonia/Newport PATH station early Sunday morning in Jersey City.

Witnesses say that the train was crowded with people returning home from a night of partying at 5 a.m.

Diamond Drummer says 34-year-old Tari Turpin, of East Orange, was sleeping on her while they were both on the train. She complained and that's when Turpin pulled out a gun. The woman's brother confronted him. Drummer says Turpin shot both her and her brother, and then accidentally shot himself.
