THE BRONX - Police say a Bronx woman was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend last night.

Authorities say they found 37-year-old Guillermo Malendez stabbing the victim inside their Morris Avenue apartment last night. Police say they shot him once in the torso after he ignored their order to drop the knife.

The woman and Malendez were taken to Lincoln Hospital, where they are both in critical but stable condition.

Hospital staff says the mother of a 2-year-old son suffered stab wounds to the neck, hand, chest and leg.

Malendez is charged with attempted murder and assault.
