NEWARK - Police are investigating the shooting of a teenager in Newark.

The shooting took place by the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Fabyan Place in Newark's South Ward.

A police source tells News 12 that an 18-year-old boy was struck, but his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The shooting adds to a violent streak in Newark where there have been 10 murders in the past two weeks.
