NORWALK - Norwalk police say a 15-year-old sneaked into a local charter school Monday and punched two teachers in the face.

Authorities say the incident happened at Side by Side Charter School, prompting the building to be placed on lockdown.

The principal says the suspect, who is not a student at the school, entered through a side door that was accidentally left unlocked. He began walking down the hall and allegedly attacked the teachers when they asked him to stop.

Investigators say the teen possessed three bags of marijuana and was acting as if he was under the influence of drugs.

He was hospitalized and faces several charges, including trespassing and assault.

The principal says his administration is doing everything in its power to improve school safety.
