Port Chester man pleads guilty to manslaughter, DA says

A Port Chester man has admitted to killing a man in the village in February, authorities said.

Julio Cortez pleaded guilty to manslaughter Tuesday after fatally stabbing Carlos Guiracocha, 23, in front of an apartment building on Poningo Stree, District Attorney Janet DiFiore said.

The two men had gotten into a fight before the stabbing, and a large kitchen knife was discovered nearby, authorities said.

Cortez faces up to 25 years in prison when he's sentenced  Nov. 27.
