YONKERS - Federal prosecutors are expected to file papers today on why the convictions of two former Yonkers political figures should not be overturned. Former Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi and former GOP Chair Zehy Jereis were convicted of federal conspiracy, bribery and extortion charges this past March. In exchange for the altering of her votes on two development projects, Jereis paid Annabi around $200,000. Their attorneys claim there was not enough evidence to prove their guilt.
