Intel semifinalist Samantha Garvey

Seventeen-year-old Brentwood High School senior Samantha Garvey is one of 61 Intel science competition semifinalists from Long Island, but the only one living in a homeless shelter. Her inspiring story has received quite a few comments -- including from actress Abigail Breslin -- a selection of which are collected here.
