Ready for our school's father-daughter dance

At our school each year, we have a tradition to have a father-daughter dance. The father-daughter dance is an event where girls invite their fathers to a dance where there is a DJ, food and much more.

Each year, the dance has a theme. Some years, it can be Hollywood glamour, or it could be winter wonderland, red carpet or even Hawaiian luau.

For each theme, there are different dresses, decorations, and give-away items. For example, when the theme was Hawaiian luau, there were little coconuts with straws sticking out of them.

I spoke to the chairwoman of the committee, my mom, Lauren Baco, about the dance. "I chair the father-daughter dance because I love to plan parties, and this is just so fun, exciting and unique," she said

This year's theme is Hollywood glamour, and a lot of girls look forward to attending. A father-daughter dance is a great activity to have in schools and an activity everyone will enjoy. Most girls in our school attend because it is so much fun. Besides dancing with our dads, it is another chance to be with all of our friends in a fun setting.

Don't worry, the boys aren't left out; there is a father-son fishing trip for them.
