Revenue shortfall delays LIRR service improvements
March 25, 2008 Just three weeks after MTA Chief Elliot Sander promised service improvements on the Long Island Rail Road, subways and other agencies, poor real estate tax revenue has potentially shelved those proposals, officials said yesterday.
While the tax revenue was $18.4 million over budget in January, the latest figures from this month show real estate taxes under budget by $31.5 million....
