Route 59 closed in Spring Valley after fuel spill
A Rockland County hazmat team was on the scene of a fuel spill in Spring Valley that closed Route 59 in both directions late Tuesday evening, News12 reported.
The diesel spill at 308 W. Route 59 occurred after a tractor trailer hit a utility pole and fire hydrant, Spring Valley Fire Chief Robert Johnson Jr. told News12. The big rig came to rest on the front lawn of a nearby home.
Spring Valley fire and police officials responded to the spill, which was reported about 8:15 p.m. The driver of the tractor trailer was not seriously injured, Johnson said.
