Life on Long Island
Ordinarily, an attempt to hang out past midnight inside Eisenhower Park would suggest errant, if not deliberately illicit behavior -- but there are actually 10 legally-sanctioned late-night occasions scheduled to occur there before the summer of 2014 concludes -- each of which being an intended exercise in upscale nightlife.
Thursday, June 12, is the kickoff date for the “10 on the Park” party...Read more »
While it's true that much of Long Island's late-night summer-season fun is to be found on or near the coastline, it turns out one of LI's most successful and long-lived get-togethers is completely landlocked within eastern Nassau County.
Back for a 15th year – an impressive age for any recurring event to reach when you consider the capricious nature of nightlife -- Carlyle on the Green’s warm...Read more »
Looks like Finale is the finale for SL East, but also the beginning of a brand new bash.
Over the past two summer seasons, SL East (44 Three Mile Harbor Rd.) had been among the strongest spots for pure parties in the Hamptons, as it specialized in big DJ events and upscale bottle service – all of which drew significant crowds almost every weekend. Nonetheless, the days of SL East (the eastern...Read more »
With May right around the corner, some “may” feel it’s time to start thinking about summer-style fun -- and if so, keep in mind that a popular Hamptons dining spot and hangout just happens to be kicking off its impending 2014 warm-weather efforts this coming weekend by hosting a generous bash to mark the occasion.

Now that St. Patrick's Day - the ultimate day for pub/club celebrating - has passed, the next focus for fun-seekers in 2014 is what’s doing for the summer season, despite the fact that its official starting point is still about two months away (with Memorial Day Weekend; this year it’s May 23-25, plus Monday, May 26).

On the other hand, the wild nights held at Neptune’s East Quogue address (70 Dune Rd.) appear to be continuing on...Read more »
As the temperatures on LI continue to swing between winterlike and spring, it’s nice to know that some of the Island’s seasonal hot spots stand unfazed by Mother Nature's indecisiveness, and are getting ready to debut.
At least one Hamptons hangout has begun to show signs of life, as has a popular Fire Island venue – but now the list of summer stops gearing up for warmer days has expanded...Read more »
It’s a fairly tedious notion to rehash how cold the past few months have been, especially knowing that it’s still pretty frigid outdoors right now, only a couple of weeks from the Spring Equinox — but Long Island nightlife peaks when the temperature rises, so getting word from the Fire Island summer spot Surf’s Out that it’s already planning its 2014 inaugural events is not just worthy of note but...Read more »
Had enough of the winter yet? It’s certainly been a memorable experience, whether due to the frigid impact of the polar vortex, the icy roads or the copious snow. However, there are signs that warmer times are soon to arrive, such as the onset of spring on March 20 — or for those whose social life is key, the official 2014 opening of Stephen Talkhouse on Saturday, March 1, an (extremely) early signal...Read more »
Of all the seasons, the departure of summer is always the toughest for the lovers of nightlife.
By the end of September, almost all the hot Hamptons hangouts, Fire Island clubs and other waterside venues that count on warm nights to draw party-minded people will be shut until at least early spring next year -- but among the seasonal closures, there is also the sign-off for Body English Tuesdays,...Read more »
