Jolie injured while filming movie on Long Island
An accident on the set of the spy thriller "Salt," currently filming in Bethpage, sent Angelina Jolie to a Long Island hospital Friday morning.
Sony Pictures Entertainment declined to release details but issued a statement saying that Jolie had "sustained a minor injury" while filming an action sequence and that production on the film had resumed.
While performing a stunt, Jolie bumped her head and ended up with a "nick" between her eyes that began to bleed, according to the Web site TMZ.com.
She was treated at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and released, hospital spokesman Terry Lynam said. Lynam declined to elaborate on the actress' treatment.
News of the accident spread quickly across the Internet Friday, drawing yet more attention to "Salt," in which Jolie plays a CIA agent suspected of spying for the Russians.
After production began in the former Grumman facility in Bethpage, Long Islanders have reported spotting Jolie and her significant other, Brad Pitt, in doughnut shops and grocery markets on the North Shore.
The couple and their children are living in a North Shore community while Jolie films the movie.
