LI foreclosure filings up 29% for the month of April
Action on both ends of the foreclosure process -- newly started cases and bank repossessions of homes -- fueled the April jump in Long Island's foreclosure-related filings, a 17 percent hike from a year ago and 28.7 percent from the preceding month, according to RealtyTrac, a California-based, online site for foreclosure sales.
